Unexpected circumstances, health issues and a new release

Dear friend,
It’s been almost two years since I last wrote to you or shared new music. Some have reached out since then — asking about new releases, shows, or even another exhibition — and I truly appreciate that, even though my replies were mostly sparse.
To be honest, I’ve wanted to release new music many times since then. But I was working on several projects for other artists — touring, producing, arranging — and that left little space to plan or focus on my own releases. Whenever I tried, it felt like forcing something unfinished, without the space or focus it deserves.
And then this year happened.
I didn’t share anything publicly, but I went through a long stretch of health problems that forced me to slow down while still touring and working as a musical director. For the first time in 15 years, I had to cancel shows. It was a strange and humbling period — seeing many doctors and specialists over several months, trying to figure out what was going on — and of course, the physical struggle took a mental toll as well.
Thankfully, I’ve found some answers, started treatments, and I’m doing much better now — and it’s nothing serious, so no worries. I just wanted to share a bit more context here, since this format allows for a slower and more personal kind of update than social media ever could.
But all of this — health, work, life — didn’t leave much room for my own music.
Until now!
I’m really happy to share that this Friday, November 7, I’ll be releasing Transit — featuring Lisa Buchholz on flugelhorn. I’ll tell you more about the piece and artwork on Friday, but for now I’d love your support by pre-saving the track.
Pre-saving simply means the song will automatically appear in your library when it’s released. It helps create a small wave of activity on release day, which makes it easier for new listeners to discover it.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly means a lot.
As always — if you don’t want to receive these updates anymore, you can simply unsubscribe at any time, no hard feelings.
Take care,
Klaus
